Why is verification important?
Let people know it's really you. Your profile badge will be upgraded to Verified so that others know that your comments are truly from you.
No impersonators! Verifying your email prevents others from using your email address when posting on sites using Disqus Comments.
Your comments won't get stuck. With a verified profile, your comments will be less likely to get stuck in moderation or in the spam filter.

The full list would be online once the upgrade is finished.
It was noticed that many of our members want to help others in the forum. To ease this, we have introduced a new feature from the top menu called 'Unanswered Threads' as seen below
You can search for unanswered threads which has been posted from your last visit, or at all time or by filtering through specific time like last one day, last 7 days etc. Once you click one of the menu, it shall present to you the threads and questions which have been posted but not yet replied.
But be fast,

It pulls Twitter stream in near real-time (max 1 min delay), reformatting tweets into threaded conversations with unlimited nesting. Conversations that spun off the original conversation are also threaded in-line, giving RTI INDIA visitors full perspective of what's being discussed.
Tweetboard is also a powerful viral tool, a link back to the corresponding conversation is appended to your tweet, creating a
We detailed in our #RTIwiki "Why You Should Start a New Thread" informing that a thread has some unique features:
A thread starter is usually the owner of the topic.
A thread has certain direction and a purpose which is usually guided by the 1st post in the thread.
A thread can be subscribed by the users who finds it important or interesting.
Usually a poster inside the thread has subscription enabled so that he easily gets the email informing that there has been a new post i

PM cautions against emergence of 'middlemen' in use of RTI Act
On the first anniversary of the RTI Act the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, had cautioned against the emergence of 'professional middlemen' in the use of this Act as has been seen in some countries and also encouragement of rivalry among stakeholders of this nascent law.
I would rather say that 'Middlemen' have very important role to play in effective implementation of RTI A
If you’re a RTI INDIA novice, hashtags — those short links preceded by the pound sign (#) — may seem confusing and unnecessary. But they are integral to the way we communicate online both at RTI INDIA as well as on other social media like twitter, facebook, Instagram e.t.c., and it’s important to know how to use them. Plus, they can be a lot of fun.
On RTI INDIA, the pound sign (or hash) turns any word or group of words that directly follow it into a searchable link. This allows you to organ

We have introduced social sharing feature over our website on the RTI forums. As our forums are highly popular segment, many people want to share the important and helpful post with their friends over social network. Earlier they used the 'email this' feature, but slowly it has lost the relevance as most of the friends are already on social network like Facebook, twitter etc.
With every post you shall see small Social icons as shown in the screenshot below:
This was a terrible trip for me to New Delhi. I had a plan to buy a good pair of shoes this time when the ministry called me up for a meeting. I was very enthusiastic to hear that delhi is running with sale and every shop owner would oblige you with a hefty discount.
The day I ended up with official session, I landed up in Shipra Mall hoping to get my pair of shoes. To my surprise, they did not had any for me. I ended up the whole two days at 2 other Malls, South Extension, Khan Market, Ansal

What better time to celebrate our 10000 strong member community than on the month of September when we started RTI India Portal.
Today on 4th September 2008, RTI India has crossed 10000 registered members. I am thankful to all those who had joined, participated, asked and took the lead in making sure that Right to Information means a success.
I receive many useful email forwards from Activists and others which naturally I cannot post it at the website due to many reasons primarily being formatting and filtering of the content.
However, I have found an easy way out for all those emails carrying information regarding RTI.
Please visit our email community blog here:
The methodology is simple:
1. You simply forward any email content carrying information about Right to Information.

Many a time a user while reading a thread content gets an idea to start a new discussion. But not knowing where and how to post a new thread, ends up into posting into other's thread topic. We call it as thread hijacking and our team are full time involved in protecting the thread starter topic. You may like to read our wiki article here: about:posting-at-other-threads [RTI Wiki]
In order to facilitate easy access for creating new threads at RTI INDIA, we have now new thread button while you

I would like to inform you all that RTI India has new Blogging segment which is much stable and organised. It will further provide all our members tools to start their own blog.
The bad news is that we are not yet been able to transfer all the blogs made previously by our esteemed RTI India Bloggers.
We do hope to revive the earlier blog posts after server stability and new technologies.
I apolozise all our active RTI India Bloggers for the temporary setup due to movement of server f
