On 06/10/2015 DoPT issued guidelines vide Office Memorandum NO. 10/1/2013-IR prescribing format for giving information to the applicants under RTI Act. The OM also issued guidelines on method of supplying certified copy. Henceforth the CPIO should endorse on the document by putting a seal indicating "True copy of the documents/record supplied under RTI Act" with signature, date, name of CPIO and name of public authority. DoPT issued clarifications, revisiting its previous instructions on uploading RTI Applications, Appeals and decisions on official website of public authorities vide its OM No. 1/1/2013/IR dated 07/10/2016. DoPT Clarified that the personal details of RTI applicant/appellant should not be disclosed as they do not serve any public interest. It is further clarified that the personal details would include name, designation, address,e-mail id and telephone no. including mobile no. of the applicant. The Government of Maharashtra (General Administration Department) has issued a new circular replacing all earlier circulars in this regard. It declares that anti corruption committees will br formed at state, district and taluka (Tehsil) levels. The committees will have usual suspects like departmental heads from revenue, ploice, co-operation, forest, PWD, ACB, as ex-officio members, and upto 10 non-governemtn members. Many members on this forum have made posts/threads on the issue of: 1. Abnormally high application fees / further fees prescribed by some States / Courts 2. Different modes of payment of fees from state to state It now seems that the Government has finally woken up to these complaints and DoPT has issues a circular to all States and Competent Authorities requesting them to consider harmonising the RTI Rules and Fees with those of the Centre.
