Attached is a new OM from DoPT containing guidelines for Central Government Ministries/Departments for handling complaints. Interestingly for anonymous complaints, guideline 3(iii) states: (iii) If a complaint contains verifiable allegations, the administrative Ministry/Department may take cognizance of such complaint with the approval of the competent authority to be designated by the Ministry/Department as per their distribution of work. HP cabinet amended RTI act 2006 HP cabinet dicided on Jan 30, 2013 Cabinet decided to repeal the sixth amendment made in the Himachal Pradesh Right to Information Act-2006 in public interest. Amendment allowed the Public Information Officer, the first appellate authority and the Information Commission to dismiss the appeal of the person, who claims information under RTI Act, on the base that he or his representatives fails to appear in the hearing. Many members on this forum have made posts/threads on the issue of: 1. Abnormally high application fees / further fees prescribed by some States / Courts 2. Different modes of payment of fees from state to state It now seems that the Government has finally woken up to these complaints and DoPT has issues a circular to all States and Competent Authorities requesting them to consider harmonising the RTI Rules and Fees with those of the Centre.
