The minority clause applies in recruitment/admissions in certain states only and this is separate reservation and not General or OBC category. (that means General category, as it is not OBC)

Jain is a religion. Presently, there is no religion based reservation system in our country. Caste based reservation is available to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class (Non-creamy layer). If you belong to any of these categories - possessing valid caste certificate issued by competent authority, then you can claim reservation, including age relaxation. Otherwise, you cannot claim any benefit of caste reservation.

While at this, there are many benefits available to Minority communities i.e Jain, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhists and Paris, which include Central and State scholarship for students, admission quota in minority institutions, reimbursement of fees, can set up minority educational institutions.

In addition to Central Government, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jharkand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal recognized Jain as a minority community.
