Once complaint is registered u/s 498A etc. complainant can not withdraw it at police station level. But if a simple application is given and offence is not registered applicant can request not to proceed further. You can file RTI application to the PIO of concerned police station with a request to provide copy of status/final report of action taken on withdrawal application.

YES 498a once registered cannot be compunded like an ON/OFF button.

Once a lady invokes 498a against husband then it becomes STATE VERSUS HUSBAND & ORS

Only in Hyderabad Compounding is allowed & NOT in Other states.

If you seriously want to withdraw it then please write details like allegations made by you , different dates, why you want to withdraw. Remember that if you are repenting that you made a mistake to file a case/ false case or whatever then write KHUL K in detail because if you will write the truth in totality then I will guide you through in a crispy & direct manner. And please also spread the message in the society so that people stop filing cases on diversion by relatives or other reasons

RTI exposes 481 transfer requests by mumbai police officials written by MLAs and ministers in just 19 months.

the Mumbai police commissioner and the Maharashtra director-general of police have received a record 481 written recommendations for transfers from MLAs and ministers in just 19 months.

From March to September this year, the DGP got 99 recommendations for transfers, of which 30 have come from the chief minister himself. Some of the recommendations have also come from Deputy CM R R Patil.

This was exposed following queries filed under the Right to Information Act, 2005.

ecommendations for transfers had in fact come down in 2004, after the joint commissioner of police (administration) issued a strict warning to 71 police officers and 64 constables for trying to use political clout.

Also, two departmental circulars were issued stating that any violation of the rule 413 rule of the Police Manual would be strictly dealt with.

Rule 413 states that "government servants are forbidden to approach officials of other departments or non-official people for support and redress. They are liable for disciplinary action if MLAs or non-official persons approach the government on their behalf," the rule says.

The Second Administrative Reforms Commission has been constituted to prepare a detailed blueprint for revamping the public administration system. The Commission has been given wide terms of reference covering all aspects of public administration. The Commission in its first report decided to analyze and give recommendations on the freedom of information as the Right to Information Act has been enacted recently and is a paradigm shift in administration.
