Delay in Appointment of notary public




I applied for notary public last december yet did not receive any reply. what do I do now?

My suggestion is to get RTI Application filed by some other friend or relative as follows:

Brief facts: Shortage of Notaries at........ Present status...


1)Please inform whether shortage of notaries at.....was brought to the attention of authorities.

2)Inform steps taken for appointing more notaries

3)If applications were received but not appointed, please inform the reasons for inordinate in appointing them.

4)If any candidate was shortlisted or selected please inform such names.

5)If such applications were rejected, please inform whether the matter was communicated in writing to those candidates that applies for such post.

6)Please inform probable date by which notaries can be appointed, for convenience of Public.

Appointment of a notary is a statutory appointment which is done under the Notaries Act and the Rules made there under, which prescribe detailed procedure to be followed for appointment of a notary.A separate Notary Cell has already been set up to expeditiously process applications for appointment of notaries.
