Transfer of EPF account from previous to new company.

We have tried the online options of transferring EPF account from previous to new employer via. employer mode and employee mode both. Previous employer have created a UAN. During employer mode, we got error saying the previous date of birth (with previous employer) was not matched with the new one (real one), whereas while trying through employee mode we got message saying previous employer has not submitted digital signature of authorized signatory. So I wanted to know following:

1. Whose responsibility is it to transfer the accounts, previous employer, new employer or the employee?

2. What will the employee do in case the work is not done on time by employer?

3. Is there any time limit (mandatory time line by EPFO) for this work to be done?

4. How to apply through offline mode?, Who should apply through offline mode?, will the problem of date of birth (miss-match between previous and new employer) again stop the transfer process in offline mode, means is it required that DOB should be corrected first and then only the transfer can happened in any mode?


Any suggestion would be very useful,

It is our own interest, and for PF etc., the top most priority is first to attend as directed by them. First submit DOB with erstwhile employer, and ask the previous employer to submit digital mode of signature

for the present. Once it is transferred, you can seek such information under RTI what ever you want from CPIO of both the organisations just by payment of Rs.10/- in the form of Indian Postal order fvg. Accounts Officer, PF. You can also seek reasons for their inaction and you may even proceed on making complaint before District Consumer Forum for deficiency of services with such information.

Priority is first let them complete formalities and do correspond with them. Once things are placed in order, then you can fight for your rights and explanation/queries.

      dear all,
      recently i asked information on the letter head of a simity but the same was denied on the following grounds:
      not a natural citizen ;
      letter head cannot be used.
      However, i came to know that cic in its judgement has permitted the companies to seek information by using letter head.
      let me know, whether i can appeal by using the recent judgement.
      also please provide me the judgement.
