If applicant want information in particular language, can it be given.

Question

sppataskar

The RTI applicant is insisting to furnish the information in particular language he prefers. Can it be given? Are there any precedence, orders of CIC/SIC or Instructions of DoPT?

The information has to be provided in the official language of the concerned authority (State/Central) and information will be provided in the language in which it exists without any translation.

Please go through rules and regulations of concerned State/Central Government to know more about this facility.

(In states like TN, Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharshtra though applicant files for information in English, he receives the information only in their state language)
