After a long time Hon'ble Vidyaranya,

You have left us in this forest without Vidya.

Please report highlights for information and knowledge of those who can not personally attend the interactive session.

If you are participating please raise the topic as to whether any authority prescribed number of RTI Applications to be filed by a citizen before them or prescribing a period or prescribing a subject as we have received such query for guidance today

Members are missing your expertise a lot.

The benefit of any such programs are generally

1. To spend the amount as per budgets,

2. Please, dignitaries.and keep them in good moods.

3. Finally, get feedback from citizens and suggest corrective measures.

4. Prepare some minutes, file them, enjoy the lunch and forget all about this.

In fact if PIO is sincere and when his responsibility is confined to implementation of just one Sec.7 (1) one alone, one can not expect anpy result with these seminars/conferences.

These workshops should be conducted to PIOs for proactive disclosures and even in these sessions,  PIOs mostly discuss during lunch time about those irritant RTI Applicants and how they have foiled the attempts of those applicants with smartness.  The common cry is that they are wasting time and money on RTI.

i) Abuse of RTI ACT 2005 ii) Protection to Information Seekers and iii) Enforcement and Implementation of  Information Commission decisions.

The above points are the focus in sessions after 13 years of RTI enactment. and the focus on the first point is that RTI is being misused when the act never states of its uses and abuses, these sessions can never prevent attacks on information seekers in the country and it is not connected with citizens alone and finally IC's want such procedure and remedies on implementation of IC decisions !!!

Unless we receive feedback and how the findings really helped and implemented both in letter and spirit, we can not comment on the success of those sessions.

But, the truth that is apparently visible is most committed workers stopped RTI work as there is sincerity in implementing the Act at any level right from PIO to IC.  There are neither carrots nor sticks applicable to RTI.  Who cares?
