dear sirs, I am the secretary of the apartment society. i filed writ petition in Ap High Court on behalf of the society against GHMC and the owner of the cellar unauthorized flat. after 8 months of struggle we won the case. the judge ordered GHMC to take action with in 6 weeks against the cellar flat owner.

in addition i have filed first appeal under RTI act asking certain information from the zonal officer of GHMC in connection to the unauthorized flat in the cellar. i am alone fighting as the owner of other apartments are working in middle eastern countries. i get the financial help and cooperation of all the 6 flat owners of the apartment. pray for success after 6 week. i did not get the asked information from the nodal officer even after 30 days as such i made 1st appeal. if i dont get the asked informed then i will approach the AP Informtion Comission.

sunaabhsarkar, being able to convince the CIC to impose a penalty of 25k is not a small thing, great success, even if diluted by the fact that you still have not got the information. i would advise you to please take good care of your health

Dear Sir,

I asked certain information from the nodal officer of GHMC. he did not furnish the information asked with in even 35 days. then i made first appeal to the Zonal commissioner who is an IAS officer and an appellate officer under RTI:mad:. as per the guidance of my rti friends.i sent the appeal by register post ack due. even after 11 days i did not get the receipt. then i issued a letter to the post master informing him the non receipt of ack. he satisfied by telling that you letter has been delivered some times the small ack is missed. but u will get a certificate from the post office that date and time of delivery to the person. It is sufficient proof under RTI. i did not get any reply even after 11 days i posted the letter on Th of Feb. 4+9= 13 days. If no reply is received with 30-35 daycam i free to make second appeal to AP Information Comission.

regards.

if i am sucessful in this i will be guiding lot of friend on RTI. as a friend and guide. regards mfs

Under Sec 19 (6) of the RTI Act, an appeal has to be disposed of within 30 days of the receipt of the appeal. This period can be extended upto 45 days for reasons to be recorded in writing. You may, therefore, wait till this extended time and then file the second appeal with the State Info Commission.

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is yet to pay their dues to Mumbai Police for the security provided in the last 17 matches played at the Wankhde Stadium in Mumbai.
Mumbai-based RTI activist Anil Galgali had filed the query under RTI to Mumbai Police asking how much MCA owes to them for utilizing their services. Information provided to Galgali by the police department, raised everyone's eyebrows as amount has crossed Rs 13 crore.
The Public Information Officer and Asst Police Commissioner (Coordination) Tanaji Surulkar provided the information compiled by the Bandobast Division that, including the 3 ICC World Twenty20, Women's World Cup, Test Match, Practice Match & One Day Match, 17 matches were played in Mumbai for which charged amounting to Rs 13,41,74,177, which is still pending for last 62 months.
On top of it, police department has not charged interest to them. The working style of police department not charging interest to MCA has raised several questions.

RTI exposes 481 transfer requests by mumbai police officials written by MLAs and ministers in just 19 months.

the Mumbai police commissioner and the Maharashtra director-general of police have received a record 481 written recommendations for transfers from MLAs and ministers in just 19 months.

From March to September this year, the DGP got 99 recommendations for transfers, of which 30 have come from the chief minister himself. Some of the recommendations have also come from Deputy CM R R Patil.

This was exposed following queries filed under the Right to Information Act, 2005.

ecommendations for transfers had in fact come down in 2004, after the joint commissioner of police (administration) issued a strict warning to 71 police officers and 64 constables for trying to use political clout.

Also, two departmental circulars were issued stating that any violation of the rule 413 rule of the Police Manual would be strictly dealt with.

Rule 413 states that "government servants are forbidden to approach officials of other departments or non-official people for support and redress. They are liable for disciplinary action if MLAs or non-official persons approach the government on their behalf," the rule says.
