RTI Response to my Query by CDAC, Mohali : A FAILURE STORY...

Question

meticulous

So, they have a sucess story section... Here they should have a failure story section to keep a balanced view....As RTI is still not that powerful and it will take years to make it right....

I had filed an RTI for details about my marks...Selection procedure followed...etc..etc from CDAC , MOHALI with refrence to this advt http://recruitment.cdacmohali.in/SSSPB/advt.pdf (its in Punjabi...Post Number :7 ) ....

Recruiter : SSSB,Punjab

PROCESS CONDUCTOR : CDAC MOHALI

Result came ...Process is said to make selection on basis of graduation marks only...here attached below merit list....(IF anyone can understand how selection was made....)

http://recruitment.cdacmohali.in/SSSB/Result/Merit_ElectionKanngo_7a.pdf

So, RTI was filed for explanation n details...

Rply from CDAC, Mohali : Provisional merit list is declared on site for refrence..For More details on marks weightage given /clarification contact SSSB, Punjab....But I cannot find my marks, n my friends marks on list....

Now,last time when SSSB was RTIed...they asked to contact CDAC as CDAC conducted recruitment....Now CDAC asking to contact SSSB...And SSSB wil send me again to CDAC.......

Not considering filing First Appeal.....Have plenty on my plate already......

Just wanted to share a failure story :) ...

Moral: If u want to RTI CDAC, Mohali....File TWO RTI's ....One to CDAC , MOHALI....2nd to the Organisation on behalf of which CDAC is conducting the recruitment...

If that is useful, try once again. Why don't you take them to Court by following the process. When the executive fails, the judiciary can intervene. The Act is powerful. Therefore the Act is not failed. I can only say that you gave up.

In a recent order, IC Ansari has ruled that reasons for denial of promotion need to be disclosed to the affected employee under Section 4(1)(d) of the RTI Act:

Under section 4 (1) (d) of the Act, all the public authorities are required to provide reasons for administrative decisions taken by them. Accordingly, in compliance with the Appellate Authority’s order, the CPIO is directed to indicate the reasons for denial of promotion to the appellant within 15 working days from the date of issue of this decision, failing which penalty proceedings u/s 20 (1) of the Act, would be initiated.
