Delay - Ration Card Chennai

Question

taelvakumar

Hi friends,

I have applied a new ration card at sriperumbudur taluk office on 24.02.2012.

Whenever we go to Ration office, the reply is same - you will get it on next Month.

Now it is around 1.5 years, i really don't know the staus of same and when we will get it.

I already saw useful threads in this site & till now didnt sent any written reminders.

My doubts are,

1) What is mailing address for Speed post?

2) Drafting a RTI letter to The Under Secretary (Public Distribution System),Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department-- is it correct otherwise kindly provide details....

3) I already took IPO, Is it valid to Tamilnadu gov.. ? & pay to whom ( i got from your threads PIO, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department-- is that correct?)

i attached the following when i had applied for new ration card in Taluk office;

deletion certificate for myself & wife, daughter birth certificate, marriage invitation, House lease agreement.

Kindly help me.

Thanks & Regards,

Selvakumar.T

Mr Selva Kumar , kindly go to Forum on this site and select FAQ. here you will get answers to all your queries. If you do not know the name of the of the PIO you can address it to the Head of the Department who will send it to right CPIO within five days. Or else several post offices are designated to receive RTI applications and they forward it to the correct CPIO. To locate such a post office nearest to go to India Post | Home .

> Address your RTI Application as follows:

To,

The Public Information Officer,

Address of the Ration Card Office where you have applied for the Ration Card.

Mail the RTI Application by Speed Post, track the delivery status of your RTI Application on Indiapost website on internet, and when the status shows 'Delivered', take a hard copy print out of the Track Report or save a soft copy of the same in pdf format on your computer as a 'Proof of Delivery' of your RTI Application.

> For RTI Application fees - Paste a Court Fee Stamp of Rs. 10/- on your RTI Application.

(You will get court fee stamps from any stamp vendors at nearby courts)

Initially, with your RTI application, you have to ONLY send the application fee of Rs. 10.00

Only when the PIO demands extra fees for the additional pages, then pay the same. Do not pay with the initial application fee.

My name is already there in my native place(Coimbatore, TN), in my dad's card and my husbands name is in his native (Tirupattur, TN). After wedding, we shifted to Chennai. Now, ration card officials say that - we have to get our names removed from our resp. natives and then only we can apply for a new card here. But in our native, they say it will take 2 months or more to remove and give a letter for that. And people say that we got to bribe or know somebody there, only then we can get it soon.

I want to know the exact procedure and how long it would take. The problem is, without ration cards, we can't gas cylinders now. We are managing with microwave oven and coil heaters.

      Please help.
