I am a post graduate in Economics, Political Science, History & Public Administration. I am in Central Government Service. I always try my level best to help the needy in my own way. As far as the RTI Act 2005 is concerned, I strongly feel that it is an indispensable legislation, which can ultimately eliminate corruption and bring in probity in all spheres of public life. The recent moves by vested interests to deliberately dilute the progressive Act has to be stopped by public opinion and pressure. My earnest desire is that all public and private organisations should be brought within the purview of the RTI Act, so that they become accountable to public scrutiny, which will enhance probity in all walks of public life. I have written and spoken in favour of the aforesaid demands in various articles and forums. For the first time in the Indian History, the Bureaucracy has started feeling the heat. The RTI Act 2005 has in fact strengthened responsibility and accountability in our nation, even though I strongly feel that The RTI Act 2005 in its present form needs more teeth to be even more effective. Harassing or persecuting the RTI Act 2005 users is going on unabated in various government departments. This should be stopped. The RTI Act users must be given mandatory and statutory protection.
