  7. Yes u r right, They shield each other. So, the head should be made accountable for the deeds of their subordinates.
  8. Justice is the right of every Indian. We should make sure that we give due respect to democracy by practicing equality and opposing any form of corruption. We should ensure justice for one and all. How many of you are aware of the misuse of the so called pro - women laws ? If the trend continues, no Indian will be spared and everyone will have to face the consequences of the misuse of these laws against innocent people. So lets join hands to find the truth and seek justice.
  9. RTI For beginner - A simple format

Most of the citizens of India are now aware of the tool called RTI. But how many of us have actually filed an RTI Application ? It is observed that most of the people who need some significant public information are afraid to file an RTI Application just because they do not know "How to start". First we must understand that RTI Application is actually a set of questions that we are asking the Public Information Officer and so, it does not have to be in a very specific formal format. This means that, to file your first RTI, you must do the following : Step 1 :- Prepare a list of questions. Make sure that you have numbered your questions. Step 2 :- Insert an introductory text which can be like a letter. It can contain some general text like - Respected Sir, Kindly provide me the following information... folowed by your questions. Step 3 :- Insert a footer after the questions. Here you should specify the serial number of the Postal Order which you have used as application fee. Footer can contain information regarding whether the information sought is public information. Or, whether you are a concerned party and you can also specify a reason for asking for this information (optional). Conclude your letter with your signature. Step 4 :- Like any other letter, you can put a subject line stating Request for information under Right to information act 2005 Step 5:- Add the From and To fields appropriately. Using a paper clip, attach the postal order with your letter and put it in the envelope. Needless to say, write the address of the addressee on the envelope. Your RTI Application format is ready. This will of course be modified according to the information sought.
  10. U R right smbehappy, Situation is serious in Gujarat and its hard to get information from police officials. Also people dealing with plc officers are definitely risking their lives as they even face the threat of getting falsely implicated in random and weird criminal cases. But I must appreciate SIC here who are there to help the RTI Applicant. I have a first hand good experience from SIC here.
  11. Killing of RTI Activists

I am also facing similar threats and have been badly harassed by some Police officers in the same city. The only thing that I can say is that one should keep strength and complain against such threats as soon as you get them.
  12. where shall i complaint against pio

Address the First Appeal as follows : To, First Appellate Authority, (keep address same as your original RTI...) Note that the designation has changed in case of first appeal while office address would generally remain the same. Time limit for filing first appeal is 30 days after 30 days of wrong decision. IF still you do not get an answer, you should file second appeal to the State Information Commission. Time limit for this would be 90 days.
