BENGALURU: The public poured in their woes at the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)’s public grievance meet on Thursday. Potholes, uncleared garbage, khata, tax, roads, storm water drains, dog menace, tree fall and many other problems were raised by the residents of the South Zone. H N Ramamurthy from BTM Layout said it was a BDA layout which was transferred to the Palike 15 years ago. “I constructed a house after the layout was transferred to BBMP... Though I am paying tax for a residential house, records in the BBMP website are still showing my property as a vacant site. Many in our locality are paying tax for sites though they have constructed houses,” he said. He added they are yet to get khata and roads not asphalted in his area. Samiulla from Roshan Colony near Jayanagar said when they sought information through RTI about roads and sanitation work in their area, BBMP had replied that it completed all the works. “But in reality nothing has been done,” he alleged.Read more at; Public Pour Out Woes at Grievance Meeting - The New Indian Express

speedoheck posted a topic in Discussions on RTII would like to ask the people in the forum what is their experience with online grievance redressal through the website pgportal.gov.in and subsequent filing of RTI for Action Taken Report. Which departments have you found success with? What if you mistakenly send the grievance to one department? Is that dept. bound to transfer the grievance to another department like the way RTI is done?
callcenjobs posted a topic in Post your RTI Success hereI recently put complaints on the government complaint redressal website pgportal.gov.in. The website gave me a complaint number. It was easy as I could upload .Pdf files directly on the website. I managed to upload the government directions directly from the maharashtra government website from the GR (Government Resolution section) and upload it on the grievance website to save time. After 30 days I followed it up with an RTI application to find out the status of my complaint. It worked wonders since, I saved a lot of time and effort posting letters and remembering speed post numbers. At around the 29th day of filing the rti application, I had already prepared my first appeal since I did not expect a reply. However, the last day of the expected reply ie the 30th day, was actually the 1st of august 2012. My mother received an sms from her bank where she is getting her pension. The sms showed the new amount that was the increased amount as per the sixth pay commission credited to her account. It was just amazing. It helped because in this way, through filing the complaint on the government website, in the event if there was any policy related decision that was supposed to be taken, it had to be taken as per the rules of the grievance ministry.

My son's colleague was trying to get his PF balance transferred from old account to new account since 23-09-2008. Despite all his efforts matter was not moving. I was contacted for RTI help and in March 2011 he filed RTI application seeking process and status of his request for transfer. And lo in 25 days he got the intimation that balance is transferred as desired by him. RTI push solved the problem in less than a month which was pending for nearly 2.5 years. RTI does work.
Hi My name is Sai Ghatpande, a resident of Mumbai. My passport was expiring this June and hence on 23 Jan 2009 i submitted my papers to the Passport office. It took 2 1/2 weeks and my papers hadn't reached my local area police station. When i made inquries, i was told that my papers were misplaced and i had to go to the CID office to get duplicate papers. The papers were then re-submitted to the Oshiwara police station and on 21 feb 2009 i went and signed for my verification. Since then i have been waiting for my passport to be delievered. Today when i checked on their website, it said that on 15.04.2009 my passport will be dispatched. Which means the whole proceedure will take over 2 months and i dont even know when i am getting my passport. I was told that filing a complain with RTI will help. I mailed my complaint to the address that was given on the mumbai passport website. I am hoping that you guys help me and tell me what i can do, can i gfile a complain? if yes, then where... Hoping to hear from you, Regards Sai Ghatpande
