LTC amount disclosable copies of TA DA bills not disclosable The CIC has ruled that total amounts reimbursed under LTC can be provided under RTI but copies of individual TA/DA bills are not disclosable since they are a invasion of privacy and personal in nature (Sec 8(1)(j)).   4. Over Rs 2 lakh spent for cleaning purpose of the skywalks in Bandra, Santacruz and Vile Parle over a period of one month and yet they never look clean. The cleaning and sweeping of these skywalks is looked after by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). Iamin had filed an RTI regarding the amount of money spent on the maintenance of five skywalks, including one in Vile Parle, two in Santacruz and two in Bandra, between January 2013 and December 2014. In response to the RTI, MMRDA officials stated that in the first four months of 2013, Rs 7.50 lakhs was spent on getting the skywalks cleaned. However, from May onwards the maintenance rights were handed over to a private advertising agency.   5. Govt foots costly medical bills of ministers Medical bills of ministers and MLAs are causing a dent in the state exchequer. In violation of rules, crores are being spent on the treatment of these VIPs overseas. Health Department rules clearly state that only such treatment may be obtained abroad that is not available in the country. Information obtained under the RTI Act shows that the government recently spent Rs 21 lakh on minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon’s treatment in the US. The Health Department had stated in its approval that the treatment was available at the AIIMS, Delhi; Medanta, Gurgaon, and Rajiv Gandhi Hospital but the latest treatment was available in the US. The minister chose to be treated in the US. Minister SS Rakhra sent the department a bill of Rs 4.08 lakh incurred on the treatment of his wife at Max Super Hospital, Delhi, in March 2014. But the department has approved only Rs 2.09 lakh. It has approved Rs 3.26 lakh against a bill of Rs 3.91 lakh in case of Tota Singh. The latter’s son Barjinder Singh is chairman of the Punjab Health Systems Corporation. Tota Singh had undergone treatment at Metro Heart Hospital, Noida, in July last year. Then minister Ranjit Singh Brahmpura got his wife treated at the Fortis Hospital, Mohali. The government paid a bill of Rs 4.32 lakh. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Avinash Chander got his mother treated at the Fortis Hospital, Mohali. The state paid a bill of Rs 2.43 lakh.Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike got his family members treated at Delhi and Mumbai hospitals and the state paid Rs 3.23 lakh on their treatment. Then minister Khushal Behl underwent surgery at Delhi and Chandigarh. The government paid Rs 3.77 lakh for it. Legislator OP Soni got his parents treated at Mohali and the state paid Rs 6.17 lakh for it. Legislator Laal Singh got treatment at the Fortis, Mohali, for which the state paid Rs 3.20 lakh. The government spent Rs 1.01 crore on medical bills between 2007 and 2012.   6. Hi, I was a customer of tikona with ac: 1104434381. I have cancelled this connection on 2011 Nov month by claering all the dues. Tikona engineer visited my house and collected the modem and related hardware they have installed. However they are still billing me and requesting for the payment. I am getting atlest 10 - 20 phone calls every day. The usage in the bill shows 0 always. How do I file an RTI to Tikona inorder to know why this is happening? I have made several calls/email to Tikona customer care and none resulted in solving this issue. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Thanks, Praneesh

State told to produce files of four MLAs UMBAI: The Bombay high court on Thursday directed the state to produce the files of four MLAs, following a PIL that raised the issue of huge medical bills run up by sitting and former members of the Maharashtra legislative assembly. Hearing the PIL ,filed by NGO Janhit Manch, a division bench of Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice S C Dharmadhikari sought the records of medical reimbursements of Dr Padamsinh Patil, N C Irani, Ramesh Chaudhary and Sahebrao Thatte for 2005-06. Bhagwanji Raiyani, who received details of the payment through an RTI application, found that most bills were for amounts ranging between Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000. While an average annual medical bill of an IAS officer was about Rs 40,000 and for judges Rs 1 lakh, sitting and former MLAs on an average had run up bills of over Rs 3 lakh every year.
