  3. I was working for a Bangalore based IT company between 1999 and 2004. I left the organization on 31-mar-2004. I didn't remember whether I withdrew my EPF amount of the organization. But I am sure I didn't transfer the amount to my next employer. Of late, I applied for my EPF withdrawal through the Bangalore organization. I got a letter from EPF Office, K.R. Puram, Bangalore stating that the claim was settled on 24-Jun-04. Unfortunately I am not able to recall it. I checked my ICICI bank transaction history of 2004. I didn't find any clue of having received the EPF amount. Now I have the following queries. 1) The claim was settled within three months since I left the Bangalore Organization (31-Mar-2004). I was told that if someone wanted to withdraw their EPF before retirement, they need to wait for a few months since they left the organization and only the claim can be processed. In my case, it had been settled within three month since I left the Bangalore organization. Is it possible? 2) Now I want to know the full details of My EPF account of the Bangalore organization like what was the balance amount available in the account when I left the organization and If the settlement is done, how the EPF amount was sent to me (through DD/directly credited in my bank account). How to get this details? Please help me. I am looking forward to response
  4. Hi, I have filed an application for PF transfer (EPFOG/R/2014/60834), this has been physically transferred to Public Authority :- Ro- Gurgaon. Since there is no response even after 30 days, I have tried to file First appeal. But for Ro- Gurgaon office First appeal has to be filed in physical mode. My concern is, when a ticket is raised and not responded, how could my letter will be considered. I am very upset of chasing Government offices, I have also raised request to PM office (PMOIN/R/2015/60186) on the same, but they also transferred the ticket to concerned office. So how to know my information ? Many might get benefit of this RTI online - but for me this is again waste of money and time. Kindly provide your suggestions and help me in getting my information. Thanks. Regards, Balaji
  5. Hi All, Just wanted to share my experience/feedback with all. I submitted the form 13 for transfer of PF accumulations from my previous company to Sapient PF account is 2010. Until January 2012 (More than 1.5 years), I tried various modes including email and telephone to get an update on my transfer status but always got one of the following reasons: The claim is under process and will be settled soon. Systems are not working so we cannot provide information. Please call us later Please call on other number. Please call us after 2 days. We shall update you. Claim will be settled soon. Due to computerization we are facing technical issues. Claim will be settled soon as we have received your form. Finally, I decided to file a grievance. On which I did not receive any response for 2 months after sending reminder I got a response “account is settled and payment under process.” No details of amount/payments were given. Also they closed the grievance. I filled a separate grievance to get the full response to the above grievance. And received a response in a month’s time stating “ The amount of Rs. x had been approved and transferred” This amount X was just 20-25% of my accumulations. I was surprised. Also they closed the grievance. I was shocked to know that. I again filled the grievance asking for clarification along with the calculations But did not received any response even after 4-5 reminders. Also when checked with the RPFO Gurgaon and Sapient PF trust their response was “We had not received any amount. Please get the copy of Annexure K from previous organization” I even tried to get the help from some PF consultants but they were also not able to help me. I tried contacting my previous organization. They emailed me the scanned copy of documents they had regarding my accumulations. Finally after all this too many too and fro for more than 2 years I decided to take the route to RTI- RIGHT TO INFORMATION. (Thanks to some of my friends who motivated me to use RTI and guided me through the process) I filled an RTI with the RPFO of my previous employer on 30st Oct 2012. It was 2nd December. I had lost all my faith and thought nothing would happen. To my surprise, A letter came to my address on 3rd December 2012 with the subject line “Reply to RTI Application” I read through the letter and was excited to read it. It response contained the cheque numbers, dates and amount of transfers to my accounts under RPFO, Gurgaon. Also the point here is they had stated that they missed to transfer my complete amount and they had transferred the remaining amount on 20 Nov 2012. When enquired RPFO Gurgaon giving reference to my RTI and the response from RPFO for my previous employer, They said “We had received the amount but did not received the Annexure K. also it will take time for the approvals so call after 15 days” I called after 20 days they said they had not received the Annexure K. Asked me to get the annexure K. They again and again said “ You are located the Gurgaon. Please come to the office and talk to us in person”. I got a feeler why they wanted to meet me personally. Decided to file and RTI with Gurgaon RPFO, I filled the RTI on 24th December 2012. I received the response on 26th Jan 2013. The response had the copy of annexure K and a letter where they had said that they had receive the amount and same had been credited in my account. It had the details of my account statement as well. They also asked me to get this amount transferred to sapient PF trust. I had provided the response to the sapient finance team via helpdesk. I am happy that after so many too and fro, I finally got my entire PF transferred to one PF account. Now it’s up to Sapient PF trust to get the amount transferred from RPFC to them. A big thanks to the Right to information which helped me a big time. Helped me get my entire amount along with the interests which was lost somewhere in the books of account due to errors. Enabled me to get the work done in the government offices by their employees without giving any service charges to anyone. I am glad to share this feedback with all. I would be happy to help, if you require any, Please reach out to me on (xxxx@yyyy.com) POSTING OF EMAIL ID IS NOT ALLOWED

  9. As reported in news.in.msn.com on 03 September 2010: Details of Form 10 should be made public: CIC to EPFO - Details of Form 10 should be made public: CIC to EPFO New Delhi, Sep 3 (PTI) The details of Form 10 submitted by an office to Employees'' Provident Fund Organisation, which consists of information about workers who have resigned, should be disclosed under the RTI Act, the Central Information Commission has held. The CIC directed the EPFO to disclose the Form 10 details submitted by a leading newspaper group which were demanded by an RTI applicant. It is mandatory for organisations to file Form 10 every month as per Provident Fund (PF) norms. The form has details of employees who have left the organisation and ceased to be PF contributors. Gurkirat Singh Dhillon of Patiala has sought to know from EPFO the details of form 10 submitted by the newspaper group for a particular period. The EPFO refused to disclose the details saying the records have been held in "fiduciary capacity", exempted from disclosure under the RTI Act, by the Regional PF Commissioner and cannot be made public. "The Form-10 given by employer to the PF Department is in fulfilment of a statutory obligation and this does not qualify as information given in a fiduciary relationship. In view of this the Commission rejects the contention of the PIO that the information is exempt under Section 8(1)(e) of the RTI Act," Information Commissioner Shailesh Gandhi said. "The PIO is directed to provide the information to the appellant before September 25, 2010," he said.

  11. Entire 9.50 percent interest income on Employees Provident Fund to be tax-exempt Submitted by : admin on dated Thursday, October 7th, 2010 The finance ministry has assured the Employees Provident Fund Organisation , or EPFO, that the entire 9.5% interest on the accumulated corpus of account holders for the current fiscal will not be taxed, ending speculation that the government would start taxing an income that had so far been exempt. “The finance ministry has told us that it would issue a notification as soon as the EPFO notifies the higher interest rate for the year clarifying that the entire interest on PF (provident fund) for the fiscal would be tax exempt ,” an EPFO official said. Labour minister Mallikarjun Kharge will go through the minutes of the meeting of the central board of trustees, or CBT, of the EPFO, which decided on the higher interest rate, after which the new interest rate for the year would be notified, the official added. The finance ministry had issued a notification on August 26, days before the CBT declared a 9.5% interest rate on PF deposits for 2010-11, stating that up to 8.5% of returns would be tax free. This had led to protests from trade unions which demanded that whatever rate of return the EPFO announced had to be tax exempt. “Since the notification was put up by the finance ministry before the CBT meeting, it must have been based on the assumption that the 8.5% interest rate that had been maintained in the last five years would continue this year as well,” the official said. The EPFO declared a one percentage point higher interest for the current year after it discovered Rs 1,731 crore of surplus funds in one of its accounts.

Hi, I have just joined this forum. I need help on my PF queries. I had quit a company 4 years back and filled all the documents for withdrawing my PF. Till date, I have not received my money. In my payslips, they have not mentioned my PF number either. I'm filing a PF claim again. How do I obtain the company's Region/SRO code, Establishment Code and my A/c number? The company's name is Diligent Media Corporation (which runs the DNA newspaper). Looking forward to some help from you guys
  13. Hi I worked with one of the most reputable firm in India say X. I quit on 8/09 and filed for a PF fund return. My company has outsourced its PF settlement function to another company say Y. This firm then processed my form and sent it to EPFO for settlement in Delhi. When i asked people in X to update me, they asked me to contact Y and when i contacted Y, they said that i contact the government EPFO. No one answers at EPFO. This is happening since a year and now i am tired of this bureaucracy. My question is who is responsible for answering me, my company X or the EPFO? And how do i go about filing an RTI to know what is taking so much time?
  14. Hello Friends, I need your help in getting out of intentional mistakes consequently done by employees of EPFO singasandra Bangalore. I had submitted application for transfer of my PF and Pension amounts from my PF a/c: KN/BNG/34287/277 to KN/11394/82996 during month of JAN 2008, and it reached to the EPFO singasandra Bangalore office in month of FEB 2008. But there after the concerned officials did not process these applications and kept aside for 1.5 yr So I called the EPFO office over phone , but i was not able to reach any concerned offical, So during month of sept 2009, I went to the above said EPFO ofice and asked many persons ,and finaly after 4 Hrs of questions , one guy said its in "internal transfer pending" state in accounts section. Then I spoke to concerned official to solve the problem, He asked me to give a written letter, I gave the written letter and then returned back, Even after giving written letter the concerned officials did not resolve the problem for 2 weeks. So I called the concerned person over mobile and then requested for processing. How ever the official has just transferred only PF. But some other official transferred my pension amount from KN/11394/82996 to KN/BNG/34287/277 instead of transferring it from KN/BNG/34287/277 to KN/11394/82996. When I submitted application for withdrawal of pension amount , I shocked by knowing the above silly mistake. I DID NOT request for transferring Pension from KN/11394/82996 to KN/BNG/34287/277 . I requested for transferring it from KN/BNG/34287/277 to KN/11394/82996. Could any one please help me in suing the official who has intentionally transferred my pension amount wrongly against one I requested in application ? I need help in following .. 1> I want to know why they have delayed for 1.5yr for processing it? and why they were waiting for me to give a written letter , after all its their mistake? isn't it a non-sense ? 2> Though its very very very difficult to reach any concerned officials at this office over phone or in person(as they are total arrogant in answering our queries or helping to our probs) why the PRO (Public relations officer)phone line is always kept off hooked ? Try 080 25734590/4492 3> Even after I had given written letter to resolve the problem, why the officials committed second mistake ? 4> How can I get compensation for my traveling charges to their office from my home to their office. approx 400Kms Rs 450 for ticket each time ? As many times when i got line, the official was asking me to visit his office and explain problem Plz help

  17. Dear Forum members, We are a small manufacturing unit (Private Limited co.) currently employing around 20 people. Prior to June 2007, our staff strength had been around a maximum of 16. In May 2007 and June 2007, our strength rose to 18 and then 21 and consequently we applied for coverage under the EPF act from the said month (done voluntarily). However, to our surprise, we received a coverage letter from the EPFO stating that we are liable to pay contributions from May 2006. No explanations were given, nor any information in addition to what was provided by us in our application sought from us prior to this. Now obviously, the liability being imposed on us is beyond our capacity and furthermore seems to be without any basis. Can I, either as an individual or as the Managing Director of the Company, file a request under the RTI Act requesting for information regarding the basis for coverage from May 2006 rather than June 2007 as requested by us? Can anybody help me draft a query? Thanks and regards, Deepak
