  1. JAIPUR: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has regularised a residential colony in the Prithvi Raj Nagar (PRN) area, allegedly against the norms to benefit a private housing cooperative society that has among its members the son of city's BJP MP Ram Charan Bohra. As per the documents obtained under the RTI and in possession of the TOI, the Jaipur MP's son Rahul Bohra is one of the 11 members of the Indira Vikas Grih Nirman Sahakari Samiti that applied for regularisation of its colony, the Shri Ram Nagar Yojana in PRN scheme. The total land in the Yojana is estimated to be worth around Rs 100 crore. 3. As reported by Anindo Dey at timesofindia.indiatimes.com on Feb 14, 2011 A list of defaulters -- From Lalu to CBI officers and more JAIPUR: It's a list of who's who in the state and outside. From members of assemblies to those of Parliament, from ministers in the state to those at the Centre, bureaucrats, judges, department heads, poets, commoners and even officers from the CBI are all there. They are members of a defaulters list -- who are yet to pay money to the government Circuit House here -- for their stay at different periods of time. Interestingly, the list also includes the name of former Union railway minister Lalu Prasad, then chief minister of Bihar. Yadav had made a visit to the city on November 4, 1993 and left without paying Rs 1,111 to the Circuit House. In fact, a detailed list of those who are yet to pay their dues for their stay since 1981 runs into several pages. And the amounts are as varied as the worthies themselves. The list was provided by the office of the manager, Circuit House, Jaipur, on January 21, 2011 in reply to an application filed under the RTI Act. The lowest due, Re 1, is pending against two persons -- one Meena, an IAS probationer from Service Training Institute, Mussoorie, who visited on April 16, 1990 and one Sailen Chatterjee, for whom a room was booked by the Information and Public Relations department for June 4, 1987. The highest due -- Rs 1,12,261 -- is registered against the name of Rajendra Singh Bhiduri, MLA, Chittorgarh, for bookings made on January 31, 2009 and on February 22, 2009. However, Bhiduri is not the sole one in the list of legislators from the current assembly. The maximum number of bills -- 114 in total -- were left unpaid by former MLA Ghasiram Yadav between January 31, 1981 to May 23, 1987. The bills come up to Rs 36,497. The list also has at least three judges, two of them from Allahabad. It also includes poets Gajanand Verma from Ratangarh, Prabha Thakur from Mumbai, Balkavi Bairagi from Indore and Ashok Chakradhar from Delhi -- all of whom had probably come for some state function and stayed at the Circuit House on August 17, 1984 after rooms were booked for them by the Information and Public Relations department, Rajasthan. Interestingly, a separate sheet provided by the office of the manager has six entries against CBI officers who had come here between January 21, 1983 and September 26, 1998 for probing the Bhetri' case. They have bills worth Rs 2,69,312 pending against them. They were provided six rooms for two months by an order dated January 20, 1993.

    Management institute director held

As reported by Rao Jaswant Singh of TNN on January 23, 2009 at the Times of India, Jaipur JAIPUR: Police on Thursday arrested the director of city-based Asia Pacific Institute of Management, Jaipur, Kailash Shankar Gautam (40), on charges of duping 86 students of Rs 1.5 crore. The students were pursuing a post-graduate diploma in management (PGDM) course. Gautam was sent to 15-day judicial custody after he was produced in court on Thursday afternoon. Gautam was running the PGDM course from Asia Pacific Institute of Management in the city without getting approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). According to the police report lodged by Rohit Dixit of Aligarh and four other students, Gautam advertised about the admission to a two-year PGDM course at Asia Institute of Pacific Management in local newspapers. The brochure issued by institute said the course was approved by AICTE. Eighty-six students took admission and the course started in July 2008. They paid Rs 90,000 as annual fee and other expenses. However, during the middle of the course, they came to know that the course was not approved by (AICTE) and that they might land jobless even after completing the course. When the students approached Gautam, he assured them about the approval but the students were not satisfied. They reported the matter to the AICTE office in Delhi. In September, they all heard from AICTE, which advised that they ensure AICTE approval of the programme before advancing further. Following the notice from AICTE, a group of students filed an application under the right to information (RTI) Act to enquire about the approval of the course from AICTE. The reply brought more misery as it said the course was not approved and neither was any such case pending with the body. The students then demanded the director refund the fees but he refused and claimed that approval was pending. Sindhi Camp police said that cops have registered a case of fraud against Gautam, who was arrested and produced before the court. During preliminary interrogation, Gautam maintained that he had applied for AICTE approval, which was still pending. The police are investigating the matter further. 6. Pricey silence of Congress veterans as reported by Rohit Parihar Jaipur, November 13, 2008 India Today Just when Congress is obliging its veterans by giving their kin tickets and hitting hard at the BJP, the party is embarrassed to know that three of its senior leaders asked no questions during the entire term in Assembly and one just put one question. Shiv Charan Mathur, former chief minister who was recently appointed governor of Assam, asked no question but picked up Rs 20 lakh as allowance. More ironical is that party's defacto chief ministerial candidate Ashok Gehlot, former chief minister asked nothing and picked up Rs 17 lakh as allowance. He is leading the party in making allegations of corruption and bad management against ruling BJP and its Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje. Another former chief minister Jagan Nath Pahadia whose son got ticket, asked just one question but was handsomely paid Rs 16 lakh as allowance. Even former PCC chief Narain Singh scored a zero in asking questions and picked up Rs 16.44 lakh in allowance. Interestingly, all four did so irrespective of their alliances. While Gehlot heads his own group and appeared very little in Assembly on instructions of high command to stay away from the state, the other three have been against Gehlot and none know why they kept silent. Informally or formally, they had been in the forefront in targetting Gehlot when he was in power and always held the opinion that he got Congress defeated in 2003 Assembly polls. Why they preferred to be silent in attacking Raje is also a mystery, though insiders say none of the four wanted to open their mouth and become a target of their opponents. Factions within Congress often used Assembly proceedings to run down rivals before high command-BD Kalla was removed as leader of opposition when Gehlot faction convinced high command that he performed badly in Assembly. Raje has repeatedly asked the Congress leaders why they failed as the opposition party of the state. These facts, procured by a Jaipur resident under right to information, justify her charge. Congress will now have to answer why its leader speak about government inefficiency only during elections. India Today - India's most widely read magazine.
  7. As reported by Yashvardhan Singh Shekhawat in india.merinews.com on 18 August 2008: Endless wait for ISBT in Jaipur Endless wait for ISBT in Jaipur The wait for Jaipur's first ISBT 'Disawar' seems endless, with the government not taking any concrete steps to speed up the project. Rajasthan's CM had laid the foundation of this much publicised project two years back.. JAIPUR IS still waiting for its new state-of-the-art Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) ‘Disawar’. The foundation of this much publicised project was laid by chief minister Vasundhara Raje on December 09, 2006. But even after more than two years of inauguration, the matter is still hanging in the red taped files. State minister of Urban Development and Housing (UDH) has written a letter to the Central minister of state, Housing and Poverty Alleviation to take up the matter with Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) for early commencement of the ‘Disawar’ project. "If HUDCO declines the proposal then Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) will invite the Expression of Interest (EOI) from private developers," UDH minister Surendra Goyal said. The Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) had increased FAR to 3.0 to attract HUDCO to take up the project, but HUDCO has not responded yet. The HUDCO officials based at Jaipur has declined to comment on the issue. The document available with DNA clearly suggests that RHB has never made a detailed plan for the ‘Disawar’. The circle second of RHB, which deal in Mansarovar area had said in a written answer under Right to Information (RTI) that the circle office never had any document related to the project plan, its map or the document related to land conversion for the said land. But the officials in RHB are not concerned about ‘Disawar’. "Every project is dealt with the approval of chief minister herself. The delay in this project may not be a hidden thing to her knowledge," RHB commissioner Tapendra Kumar said. The ISBT with the world class facility was expected to come up at the commercial zone first in Mansarovar on a 50000 sq metre land. RHB had demanded 250 crores for the land and about 125 crore rupees for the construction of the bus terminus from HUDCO. The RHB and HUDCO had planned to share the revenue generated by the auction of the commercial properties in the terminal. But the resident of Mansarovar has now lost the hope for ‘Disawar’. "The property prices soared after the inauguration of the Disawar project. But now the residents of Mansarovar have lost the hope for the ISBT here. The fate of land is still not decided," former chairperson of Mansarovar Samyukta Vyapar Mahasangh, Harvansh Jagga, said. In box: History rewinding fast in Jaipur History is repeating itself at the rate of government change in sham land dealings of government properties in Jaipur. The ISBT was originally planned at Kashipur scheme near Sanganer airport. Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) had sold this land to roadways for three crore rupees for this purpose. But later JDA revoked the allotment to roadways and gave that land to Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO). Then JDA had asked to earmark 45 bighas of land at Mansarovar for ‘Disawar’. The part of land was already in legal tangles with the Vyapar Vikas Sangh. The grand bus stand plan is still hanging in the RHB files. Now the government is talking about developing the Interstate Bus Terminus at Shivdaspura. And history is going to repeat itself a third time in two decade in the fast moving Jaipur city.
