  1. Hello, I travel from My Home to office , its about 8 Kms Distance. As Soon as I reach A Place Called Nehru Chowk, Its A Havoc. The shops are built on a loft so they have come on the road occupying some part of the road on the left. On the same road on the right is a bike parking and an auto stand, which leaves us hardly any space for 2 cars to pass, over and above the bike riders are always in hurry. What should be done to whom should we complain. Further when we cross the chowk the cars seems to some from any-side , the traffic jam is very unruly and no one seems to care, people park bikes on the roads, further then a car is parked after that on the road, on the same road auto rickshaw refuses to move come what may,,,, its total chaos for that 1 km its take me daily 18-20 minutes.... I want help from you guys please help... thank you all for reading (I have read the rules for RTI And have Successfully files two rti in the last 3 days or other purposes. 6. Yesterday, around 12 noon, while driving on the ridge road, i was challaned by Delhi Police for over speeding. I was simply told that my speed was 79 Kmph and not shown any proof for the same. While i may have been over the permissible 50 Kmph speed i am sure i was not close to 80 Kmph. The query i want to ask Delhi Traffic police is : 1. What is the procedure used to detect overspeeding? 2. Which NABL accredited organization has certified the test equipment? 3. When was the test equipment used on ridge road at around 12 Noon last caliberated and can a copy of the caliberation certificate be shared? 4. Can the proof of violation be shared with the violator? 6. Why was the challan not signed by the challaning officer? Can someone advise me as to how i go about it? Rgds Col Mahesh
  7. [h=1]Web traffic to government website topped on PM Narendra Modi's Madison Square Garden speech day[/h] NEW DELHI: Traffic to the Modi Government's showpiece website -- mygov.in -- hit an all-time high of nearly 10 lakh hits on the day Narendra Modi was on his maiden trip to USA as the Prime Minister last September and gave a rockstar address at the Madison Square Garden before meeting US President Barack Obama, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has revealed. The said website gets a daily average of 1.52 lakh views but it got the maximum page views of 9.82 lakh on September 29 last year, the PMO has revealed in response to a RTI application. Modi had introduced a web-link on pmindia.gov.in website where people can lodge their submissions, suggestions and grievances and the page contains two sections -- where people can write to the Prime Minister and the other for suggestions and ideas. "The latter takes you to mygov.in, a comprehensive platform that empowers each citizen to contribute towards nation building. Citizens can share their thoughts and ideas on a wide range of issues. MyGov has been initiated as a medium for public participation in governance. Hence it is configured to allow the maximum possible number of citizens to register and participate," the PMO said replying to a RTI application by activist Subhash Chandra Agrawal. 9. NEW DELHI: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has written to lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung asking him to exempt Sikh women from wearing helmets. To claim the exemption, they cited an RTI reply from Delhi Police as proof showing that no Sikh woman had died in a motorbike accident last year. Avtar Singh Sethi, president of Delhi Sikh Citizen's Council said that he had filed the RTI to the office of special commissioner (traffic), Taj Hassan. Traffic cops then asked them toapproach the district police who replied that no data of a Sikh woman being killed in a fatal accident was received by them. The groups also wrote to the LG asking him to exempt Sikh women from wearing helmets since it would be hurting their religious sentiments. 10. On the basis of the replies received under the provisions of theRight to Information Act, 2005, the supreme court has decided that "it is averred that these authoritiesare of the unanimous opinion that black films should bebanned. Black filmed glasses help in commission of crime aswell as hiding the criminals even during vehicle checks at‘Naka’ points." Use of films or any other material upon the windscreen or the side windows is impermissible in law w.e.f 4th May, 2012. The hon'ble supreme court stated "we prohibit the use of black films of any VLT percentage or any other material upon the safety glasses, windscreens (front and rear) and side glasses of all vehicles throughout the country." The court passed the order on a plea seeking complete ban on use of dark films on car windows, including the vehicles used by VVIPs, alleging that many crimes in cities were committed by people using such cars with tinted windows. The petitioner, Avishek Goenka, had contended that he had 25 RTI query replies from various police stations to back his claim that many crimes, including sexual assault on women, were committed by offenders who used cars with tinted glasses to evade public gaze and conceal their identity. Another adverse aspect of use of black films is that even if they reflect tolerable VLT in the day time, still in the night it would clearly violate the prescribed VLT limit and would result in poor visibility, which again would be impermissible. We have created a detailed article on this issue along with the attached supreme court decision at our sister portal bighelpers.org here http://www.bighelpers.org/content/what-ban-dark-film-glassess-can-t-i-have-dark-film-permissible-limits-128/ Please join us in the discussion at our facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/rtiindia.org Thank You.

    Hindurao Hospital and traffic

Hi All, I live very near to HinduRao Hospital in Malka Ganj, Delhi. The hospital has private roads, obviously for patients and their relatives. But this road is also a short cut to reach Rajpur Road and eventually Ring Road. So, alot of smart people use this road as this is alot quicker. Issue is in morning rush hour too many people uses internal roads of Malka Ganj to reach Ring Road via HinduRao Hospital and it feels like the whole traffic is diverting towards Malka Ganj and hospital. Simply means too much noise and traffic on small colony roads. This is a nuisance to local people like me and the a big issue for patients staying at the hospital. I thing this road should remain open for patients but access to Ring Road should be blocked. Anyone who knows about this, and can help me with this, please let me know. Thanx AB
