i lost my passport while transport.

i now my passport No. (A2183238 Issue at Hyderabad Issue in 1996).

i dint no details of my passport

How to now the passport details.

Please remember as to whether you have submitted such copy of pass port to any Bank, educational institution, employer, as a copy may make the procedure simple. I am not sure in a place like Hyderabad, whether filing police complaint informing loss is essential or not.

In Gujarat it is necessary to inform police with an affidavit about lost of passport and to mention it in application filed for duplicate passport.

Passport is a Central Govt. subject and therefore the rules for duplicate passport have to be same for the entire country including the State of Gujarat.

With due respect, considering situation in state, police authority/ passport office issues separate instruction/ circular to keep a watch and to avoid delay.

Procedure is now simple. Since you have the passport number, you can get rest of the details i.e. date of issue, validity, form issuing Passport Office itself.

 

You can fill up the details on-line for reissue and submit the application print out duly signed with all supporting documents at nominated Passport Sewa Kendra (PSK) on pre-appointment.
