It the institution is created by an act of Legislature or Parliament then it does come under RTI Act 2005 and also if it is substantially financed even then the same is covered under RTI Act 2005.


Kindly see the Section 2(h) of RTI Act 2005.

If that college is getting grants/aid/concessions in land etc., you can secure information from them. It depends on the information you require. For example, Universities and Govt., receive some statements/inspection reports regularly for continuing the affiliation, so that information must be available with that University/Govt., in the form of a statement/Returns periodically. So please post exact requirement, so that members can suggest for alternatives.

generally private schools/ colleges are not public authorities as most of them run on their own, they will only take recognition/ registration to start the institution from the DEO or collegeate education board of respective state government, depending upon the type of information you need , members can direct you if you can approach any PIO.
