rti happenings: Karnataka: Inquiry sought into corporation’s lapses

The Karnataka Information Commission (KIC) has directed the Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department and the Directorate of Municipal Administration to appoint a senior officer of the Joint Secretary level to inquire into the lapses committed by the Kalaburagi City Corporation. Stringent action must be taken against the officers responsible for the abnormal delay in providing information sought under the Right To Information (RIT) Act, it said.
