need to apply for patta

Question

Hello,

i have an independent house at madipakkam , purchased in 1996 . Plz tell me the procedure to apply for patta for my property through RTI .. I have the house documents and all related documents .

RTI is not the proper mode to apply for Patta. You may approach the local revenue authorities and apply in prescribed format attaching required documents.

What exactly you mean by PATTA when you have purchased land in 996 you will get registered sale deed that itself is the official document which confer right upon you and no patta is required.

Thank you sir for your reply , I was recently told that even if we have the sale deed , now we need a patta document to reconstruct or to sell the property .earlier the property was sold without patta , but now patta is being made mandatory for all the properties . I was also told that patta document is needed even for applying for a lone on the property . Plz guide me .
