CHRISTOPHER DE MELLO

Sir/ Madam,

I had submitted a letter seeking information under the RTI Act about 1% reservation of jobs for the visually challenged:- at point no.2--List of Physically handicapped candidates along with designation recruited under Group A and Group B during the last 5 years against the following categories:-a] 1% reservation for orthopedically handicapped, b] 1% reservation for hearing impaired, c] 1% reservation for visually challenged. and at point 3:- The list of posts [ the 3% reservation for the handicapped as per the persons with Disabilities Act 1996] identified for the Physically handicapped in Group A and Group B which have remained vacant in each category, and the backlog position, and the present status in each category.------The reply I received from the Department of Personnel is as follows:-- “This is to inform you that as regards to point no. 2 and 3 it is to inform you that the information sought by you amounts to creation of information which does not come under the purview of section [2][f][j] of the RTI Act,2005 and para 10 of part 1 of the guidelines circulated vide O.M. No.1/4/2009-IR dated 05/10/2009 by Government of India, Ministry of Personnel,Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training. As such the information sought by you cannot be provided by this Department of Personnel.” Kindly guide me to get the information of 1% reservation for the visually challenged.
