Dear Members of this August Forum,

In a major development , the Sehwag International School, Silani Jhajjar, Haryana has admitted to have been under RTI Act 2005 on undersigned Complaint case number 1802 of 2015 before the Hon'ble State Information Commission, Haryana.

The undersigned filed RTI application on 12th May 2014 seeking information from The Krishna Drishti Education Society (Running Sehwag International School in Jhajjar,Haryana)about total number of seats in all classes, seats vacant under EWS (economically weaker sections), seats available under EWS, date of receiving of application under EWS quota & name & details of beneficiary students under EWS.

The Sehwag International School has been substantially subsidized by Government of Haryana as 33 Acres of Land has been provided for Rs 4250/per month (for 33 Acres of Land). The Circle rate of that at that time was Rs 30 Lacs per Acre and thus 33 Acres X Rs. 30 Lac = Rs.9.90 Crore land was given at Rs 4250/- per month against the bank interest on Rs 10 Crore @ 1% comes to Rs 10 Lac per month thus giving benefit of Rs. 9.96 Lac per month to Sehwag International School, Jhajjar and as such the School is substantially financed by State Government and is a public authority under Section 2(h)(d)(ii) of RTI Act 2005.

The Sehwag International School did not provide any information and thus filed first appeal before management of the School which too did not provide any information.

Aggrieved filed Complaint under Section 18 of RTI Act 2005 before Hon'ble State Information Commission, Haryana. The learned Administrative Officer of Sehwag International School denied of receiving the undersigned RTI application and appeal.

I presented my set of arguments and learned Administrative officer of Sehwag International School did not dispute the undersigned arguments and provided the information thus conceding to be under RTI Act 2005.

The Hon'ble Y P Gupta, State Information Commissioner, Haryana accepted Sehwag International School contention of being under RTI Act 2005 and noted that since Sehwag International School has provided information under RTI Act 2005 and hence undersigned Complaint is ALLOWED.
