Status of my stolen car

Hello,

My car was stolen and an FIR was lodged with Mico layout police station. Its now 4 months and they are not giving me any information. I have asked for non traceability certificate, they are reluctant and inform that it might 6 to 8 months or 2 years. I cannot claim my insurance with the non traceability certificate. How do it get the information about the law which informs me the time limit for issuing the certificate.

 

To whom I can submit the RTI and which address.

The duty of policy holder is completed the moment a claim was submitted with FIR. Insurance company has to make it's own efforts for further follow up, and can not keep claim pending for years together simply for the reason that non traceability certificate was not given by police. Contact Insurance company personally and seek for certified extract of rules and regulations procedure to be followed while settling the claim in case of stolen car and time frame fixed as per Citizen Charter for settlement of such claims.
