BrihanMumbai Municipal Corp spent the amount by appointing officers as OSDs and consultants after their retirement. Some were even given extension without permission from the government, reveals reply received by Anil Galgali, under the RTI Act

[h=1]Mumbai civic body terminates OSD services from tomorrow[/h]

MUMBAI: The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has decided to terminate services of Officer on Special Duty (OSD)/ Consultants.

 

 

A circular which was issued on May 27 states that as per orders of Municipal Commissioner from June 1, 2015, the services of all the officers appointed on OSD/Consultants are terminated.

 

 

The circular has also fixed the responsibility of the order's compliance on the chief of various departments.

The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has decided to terminate services of officer on special duty (OSD)/ consultants. An RTI query had revealed that the civic body had appointed as many as 40 retired employees as OSDs/consultants on contractual basis from January 1, 2010 to February 28, 2015 and has spent Rs 1.7 crore as fees for their services.Read more at;
