Yes. You must send your RTI Application by SPEED POST with Acknowledgement Due or by Registered Post Acknowledge Due (RPAD). In both cases, you can also track the delivery from the Dept of Post website and keep a print out in your record.

Please don't send RTI application by ordinary post.

Also please refer to : SUBMIT RTI APPLICATION

You need not enclose Acknowledgment card with RTI Application inside the envelope, and it is sufficient if you send the application with RTI fee under Regd., Ack Due (Card outside the envelope separately enclosed)

Respected Maoj Sir

Acknowledgement Card (पावती पत्र) gives the assurance of the fact that the letter has been received by the Addressee.

(As in general correspondance/official correspondance we attach it.)

Then how will you attach 'Acknowledgement Card' with RTI application which is already received by PIO?

Respected Manoj Sir

Ack Card as aforementioned by by two members, it is to be sent along with the Envelop. Addressee receives the letter and he fills the DATE of RECEIPT of letter in the card, Puts a STAMP of his office and gives it to the same postman to post it to ur address which is already filled in d ack card.

From my experience, I suggest there is no need to use "acknowledgement card" while sending RTI applications. Most of the time, they never come back.

These days, Speed Post / RPAD can be tracked online and that system works nicely. Once the tracking shows the status as "delivered", just take a printout of that page and it will be enough to prove that the RTI application was delivered.

Why do you want to spend extra on the acknowledgement card ?
