PIO details of Income Tax department

Sir,

 

I want to file RTI application to the Income Tax Department in chennai. But i could not get the details of PIO to send the application. If any one have the details please share it.

 

Also, i tried to file it using RTI Online, but i am confused to select which ministry and Public authority to reach PIO of IT department. Please help me.

Every ITo of Ward is designated as CPIO. File fresh application by Regd., Post with IPO of Rs.10/-

Generally from IT dept we are not getting replies to RTI promprly somtime they make you to go upton 2nd APPEAL and then give reply.Assesment officer (A.O) who is also known as ITO Wrd is th CPIO since IT is central dept and u can apply to him

Assessing Officer (ITO or Asst Commissioner) are the PIOs of each Ward / circle.

File your RTI application with the PIO who is the ITO of that ward/circle.
