proof of filing rti application

rtikishore

Question

rtikishore

Hello,

I have a doubt since I have been aware of rti. What would be the proof that I filled an RTI application to a PIO officer? For example I would like to file a RTI application to a PIO from whom I didn't get any reply. To further complain appellate officer about the same what proof should I submit him? I haven't filed any rti before. Thanks in advance.

All RTI Applications must be filed only through traditional Regd., post, and member has to track delivery status through indiapost website, print out the screen shot.

Further the postal receipt and fee counterfoil must be pasted secured on copy of RTI Application.

If no information is received from PIO within 40 days from posting of the application, treating the information as deemed denial, First appeal has to be filed to FAA of that Authority stating that PIO has neither provided information nor denied information stating exemptions within 30days as stipulated under RTI Act and hence the grounds for appeal is deemed denial of information. Prayer has to be made for directing PIO for providing information as expeditiously as possible free of cost.

A mere postal receipt is service proof. If the envelope is not received back means it might have been delivered in 99% of the cases.

Proof: Registered/SpeedPost/COunter receipt/Online application

To complaint, you can submit any of the above. In case you do not have any, try your luck by sending your appeal along with the original RTI Application to the first appellate authority.
