DoPT OM directing measures for strengthening suo moto disclosures.

DoPT issued Office Memorandum on 30/06/2016, on the basis of recommendations of the Committee of Experts consisting of Shri A.N. Tiwari, former Chief Information Commissioner and Dr. M.M. Ansari, Information commissioner of Central Information Commission; to take measures to further strengthen implementation of Section 4 of the RTI Act, 2005.

 

Now Public Authorities are required to appoint Consultative Committee; set up information & facilitation centres; constitute Committee of PIOs and FAAs to identify frequently asked information and its suo moto disclosure; made Nodal Officer responsible for proper indexing, categorizing and organizing of information displayed in website; all material disclosed / uploaded suo moto shall contain its date of upload / print; AND Transparency Audit must be conducted by the Training Institute of each Ministry/Department/Public Authority and across the States and Union Territories.
