Prasad GLN 1,761
Why they should not give that option to Applicants in the application itself like PIO can upload the details of this application in their website YES / No. When this is their stand, now no one can get RTI Applications of third party as certified copies from any Public Authority ? Is the DOPT stand proper ?
Super Moderator RAVEENA_O 529 Posted January 4, 2017 Author Super Moderator Share Posted January 4, 2017 In fact there is no mandatory condition to give the address of applicant. Therefore, in such cases, where the applicant do not want to conceal address can always avoid to indicate it in RTI Request.
Prasad GLN 1,761
The query remain clarification is whether any citizen can get copy of RTI Application filed from PIO of that public authority. (If DOPT directions are followed, PIO has to severe that particulars from application and should provide the application, and should not reject application entire)

sppataskar 28
On one side Act - Section 4(ix) & (x) requires the Public Authority to publish under Sue motto disclosure- the information i.e. directory of its Officers & Employees and monthly remuneration received etc. , and on the other side, DoPT is restricting disclosure of personal information .
Prasad GLN 1,761
The relevant issue in the query is that as providing personal information of applicants may endanger the lives of applicant citizens, at the request of many experts, DOPT has directed Public authorities not to disclose the names, addresses, e mail IDs of applicants as several RTI activists were targeted and lost their lives for the cause of larger public interest. There is no link in this post about personal information of employees with public authority and Sec.4 details. Supreme court has clearly stated as to what amounts to invasion on privacy of citizens, and any one should use that information prescribed by SC as personal information.
