want to know What non govt funding ngo come under rti

Dear sir

I abhilasha working an ngo. This ngo not received any fund from government but i needed some rti from this org. Can this type ngo come under rti act

Unless there is substantial contribution from state, NGO is not a public authority and beyond ambit of RTI Act.

If the NGO 's donations are exempt from income tax or such other concession, you can seek from that dept., that information that is available in material form with them on NGO under RTI.

They can only provide that information that is already available in material form in their records, they will not collect, compile and collate such information.

As far as NGO is concerned, you can not seek any information from them under RTI Act.

However, you may post the exact information you wish to seek from NGO, as members can suggest other alternates.

You can seek all the information that you require by filing a RTI application with the Public Information Officer of the Charity Commissioner's Office with which the said NGO is registered.

It depends on what type of legal entity is the NGO.

 

Is it a Registered Society, a Public Trust or a "not for profit" corporate ?

 

Information will be available with the Charities Commissioner only if the NGO is registered as a public charitable trust.
