D.T.RATHAVA 0
Hyderabad: Private schools nowadays are offering various opportunities for students to flourish besides academics but, the safety of children is in jeopardy as many private schools are not equipped with fire safety measures under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. In 2016, out of 500 educational institutions, only 29 in Qutbullapur Circle, Balanagar mandal and Kukatpally circle adhered to fire safety standards prescribed by the government, according to a Right to Information (RTI) reply. Private schools flunk fire safety test
Prasad GLN 1,794
This position after introducing Mid day meals, even in Govt. Schools. Prior to Mid day meals, there was no kitchen activity in School and there were absolutely no fire hazards. Now dilapidated buildings and risk of fire accidents are main issues in Govt. Schools / Aided schools. Those that were exposed to the risk are always from Below poverty line or lower middle income group citizens and they do not have voices and they have to speak through the mouth of opposition counselors. Prasad GLN 1,794
Collectively they are very stronger and individually they are weak. Go through any Media coverage, you can notice the awareness of illiterate women, and how they express themselves without fear with such clarity and do not hesitate to blame Govt for every thing. You can not see such way of expression with any experienced Government officers and even Ministers during press conference. Their uncomfortable nature is visible to all. koteswararaonerella 8
this problem in qutubullahpur mandal of Hyderabad was exposed by one Mr. Madhu who is a local rti activist for years but the private schools have enguaged goons to attack him and he was stabbed thrice on his neck and hands a few months back and fortunately he survived and whole episode was telecasted in SNEHA TV Hyderabad yet the corporate school owners are not afraid of anything as they are supported by politicians. Fire accidents are not confined to only cooking and it may happen due to electrical shot circuits als and in such case there should be exit route for escape which is not available in multistorie complexes where corporate schools are run. no govt school is a multi storie building and there is no problem of fire as the children can escae if anything happens.
