Is the construction of toilets like this still relevant today? I just didn’t think that there was such a necessity and that this should be discussed in public.

Providing amount, materials for construction of toilets is a welfare scheme, subsidized by Central Government.  Most of the health risks are water borne and air borne .  In villages most persons are affected with these ailments in addition to parasite attacks on body.  Instead of opening so many hospitals when present hospitals lack qualified doctors, preventing such causes is the easiest way (Prevention is better than cure).  Some local politicians are misusing the central Govt. funds, even without making such constructions, using substandard material, providing that benefit to all those people who are already having such facilities, providing to those who do not need it to show on paper such construction and to pocket govt. funds.  Such misuse may be several crores in the country.   When central govt has come up with such a scheme for benefit of the poor who can not afford, it is social responsibility of every citizen to see that the funds reach the deserving.
