Information can be solicited many forms like a)letter  b) copy of document c)Certified copy of document d) inspection of files or documents.   PIO has to provide the information in which it is requested.  The format and fees are one and the same.  For first hour of inspection fees are NIL and for next hour onwards, they may charge prescribed fees which are very nominal.  You are also entitled to get those documents as certified copies during /after inspection.   Be polite and just focus on information.  If any document/file are rejected, give a protest letter immediately after the inspection is over, and get due acknowledgment.

So the format prescribed as General application for seeking information holds good for all purposes.

Information solicited:

1)Please provide the opportunity of securing / soliciting information in the form of Inspection of files on ....................................................(subject) and two dates with timings giving option of selecting one date to applicant.

Invariably read the Blog on inspection available  in the forum and keep two copies with you, in case of difference of opinions you can provide the copy to PIO for verification.
