Shoddy and rubbish roads in Bangalore

Ram Kumara Naga Raja
Go to solution Solved by Sunil Ahya,

Ram Kumara Naga Raja

BBMP (Municipal council of Bangalore) does not take either postal or Online R.T.I queries.

Since there is no accountability, the roads are in disarray and no action has been taken. Now with this covid19 pandemic, these fellows are just sitting and eating peanuts.

Several compliant either to the BBMP app, P.M.O office or the local M.L.A/MP have fallen on deaf ears.

Has anyone succeeded in resolving roads via the R.T.I route or some other route?

RTI is not the panacea for all issues.  Through RTI one can only seek that information available in the material form with authority as a record.

There is no question of not taking RTI applications over post and it appears as highly improbable.

Many corporations are having separate help desks where they collect fees and issue receipts instantly.

Taking action depends on several factors and the primary being income, grants  Budget allocations, influential residents in that locality, corporator influence etc., and we can not blame the employees as once budget is allocated, the rest is to be attended through tender process through contractors.

Collective agitation and group representation to peoples' representative MLA or MP or seeking their LADS are some ways.

Every year there is allocation of certain fixed amounts for spending to public utilities by MP/MLA and they have such discretion to spend  as they like.  One can request for such funds, mobilize some contribution and demand from the government to more contribution as ultimately it helps a community.
