RTI REQUEST HAS BEEN REJECTED BY GIVING REASON FOR REJECTION AS SECTION 24 OF RTI ACT

some of the government sectors has been kept aside to provide information under RTI ACT. But sir it is very difficult to digest DRI which seizes the smuggled goods and generates income to the govt of india. 

They also post information on as and when the raids are conducted in there website and also provide information to the local news papers for years. But when i asked to provide the same information which they are maintaining refused to provide the same and given by rejecting the same under section 24,

Please advice shall i go-ahead and go for first appeal or it is not worth.

24. (1) Nothing contained in this Act shall apply to the intelligence and security organisations specified in the Second Schedule, being organisations established by the Central Government or any information furnished by such organisations to that Government:

Provided that the information pertaining to the allegations of corruption and human rights violations shall not be excluded under this sub-section:

Provided further that in the case of information sought for is in respect of allegations of violation of human rights, the information shall only be provided after the approval of the Central Information Commission, and notwithstanding anything contained in section 7, such information shall be provided within forty-five days from the date of the receipt of request.

 

The answer to your question lies in the proviso to section 24. That is to say that, if you can sufficiently allege corruption and human rights violations then you can go in for a first appeal on that ground.
