can an employee himself  or his relatives get copy of service book under RTI

The employee can get such a copy as he is entitled to get that information.

For his relatives and outsiders that is a personal record and in between employer and employee and there is no larger public interest involved.

However, in case of a deceased employee, the nominee can seek such information.

As a formality, if such a request is received PIO should seek comments from the concerned employee if a third party seeks such information.

The public interest in the information sought by RTI PMO Railway Section 7 ( 1 ) within the ordered letter pending in DLW , Varanasi
