thank you very much.

I have achieved something extraordinary through RTI.

A judgement (April 2004) from District Court directed the West Bengal

Govt. to pay compensation by acquiring pond lands surrounded (land

locked) by other acquired properties. WB Govt. took no action and

normally this require another litigation - ie. execution petition.

I tried using RTI - and from Delhi I initiated large number RTIs and

also approached the Information Commission to direct the Govt. to

furnish reply - ie. action taken. I also inspected and sought complete

copy of file notings to understand the matter from the view point of

the department. After 2 years in a meeting with the Secy the Govt.

ordered to implement the court order. But I am told it is much faster

than the court.

It may be an interesting success story for RTI act.

I am ready share it in the interest of RTI

thanks subir paul
